As one year ends, another begins…

We just wanted to share a couple of photos and stories from the last few months. The holiday season goes by so fast, and before you know it, spring is right around the corner!

Thanksgiving was small this year but we gathered with our parents at our house for a wonder dinner. Our turkey was from a local farmer and boy has it provided many meals! Not only did we have multiple leftovers the whole next week, Becky made a large batch of soup in December and just recently canned an amazing 8.5 quarts of soup and 11 quarts of broth from the rest of the bones.

In December, we started the month with many family birthday celebrations. Next came Christmas with cousins and the Road to Bethlehem at church. Joe had a great time with all the animals at the manger scene. Becky also got together with all her teammates continuing the famous (at least around here) tradition of another basketball alumni game. And finally, we harvested the remaining carrots in our garden, in December, can you believe it?

In January, we celebrated the New Year and Becky’s birthday with another Thanksgiving feast and a special batch of her dad’s dressing! Winter also finally arrived and brought many snow days. The pups love the snow as much as they love to snuggle.

And that brings us to March, were we start the month off with Fat Tuesday paczki, Ash Wednesday, and the beginning of Lent. We are finding it a great time to reflect on the many blessings God has provided us and continues to provide. It’s also the time of year when we begin to plant our seeds for this year’s garden.

Isn’t it amazing to watch tiny seeds grow? With patience, lots of love, and care they will soon become baby plants, and then large gardens, and then great bountiful harvests that bless many people with their fruits!

We hope to someday share our love and God’s love with you and our little one(s). To share endless love and patience as we support them and watch them grow into bigger little ones and guide them as they grow in into their own unique person. To be even more amazed when we see the blessings they bestow upon others. What an amazing future it will be, indeed! Until that day, know that we and many others are praying for you and believe God has a plan for all of us!

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
